Call for Papers and Presentations
God is Still Red Symposium: The work of Vine Deloria, Jr.
Date: 11-13 July, 2007 Location: Vancouver School of Theology

THIS CALL FOR PAPERS ILLUSTRATES THE PURPOSE OF OUR VERY SUCCESSFUL SYMPOSIUM. WE HOPE TO SOON PUBLISH THE PAPERS IN THE ITTI JOURNAL AS WELL AS PUBLISHING SOME OF THEM ONLINE.
You are invited to participate in this symposium by submitting a paper or presentation. Also, you are invited to come, listen and sit in this circle of learning, without making a presentation. This Symposium will engage the work of Vine Deloria, Jr. and its importance for our new generations.
In 1973 Vine published God is Red, a voice from Turtle Island. Vine’s book influenced aboriginal theology globally. Subsequently, post-colonial thought has emerged along similar themes. Now, over thirty years later, it is time to re-discover his work and determine its relevance for us in the 21st century.
Please forward a one page abstract of your presentation by April 30, 2007 to Yuu-hadaax, c/o the Vancouver School of Theology. Submissions will be accepted up to July 1, 2007.
A brief summary submitted by April 30th will be posted on the Yuu-hadaax web site. (www.vst.edu/yuuhadaax.php). We propose to record all the proceedings and make them available in digital form. Papers and presentations will be published in the ITTI First Peoples Theological Journal.
Those presenting papers or presentations at the symposium will not be compensated financially, and are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and associated expenses. However, there is no registration fee.Contact the web site www.vst.edu/yuuhadaax.php for an online registration form and a list of accommodations located near the VST campus.
